Irish Architectural and Decorative Studies, the annual journal of the Irish Georgian Society, has been published since 1998 and is the much-enhanced and expanded successor to the Bulletin of the Irish Georgian Society which was published from 1958 to 1997.
The journal reflects the Society's wide remit and is concerned not just with Georgian architecture, but embraces the entire spectrum of Ireland's post-medieval architecture and its special need for protection, interpretation, understanding and appreciation.
The content of each volume of the journal is wide and varied, and testimony to the diversity and scholarship of the series. It is the only periodical in Ireland dedicated to publishing original research on architecture and the decorative arts and in doing so provides an important means for the dissemination of new scholarly information, nationally and internationally.

The Irish Georgian Society is a membership organisation whose purpose is to promote awareness and the protection of Ireland's architectural heritage and decorative arts. These aims are achieved through the activities of its membership and through its conservation and education programmes.
The Society has an international membership of 2,000. Based in Dublin, we have active regional Chapters in Cork, Birr and Limerick and, in the UK, a thriving London Chapter. Our strong United States membership has its headquarters in Chicago and Chapters in Boston, New York and Palm Beach. The benefits of membership include: an annual magazine; participation in the Society’s events programme; the Society’s annual journal Irish Architectural and Decorative Studies; and free or concessionary access to selected heritage properties in Ireland.
Membership of the Irish Georgian Society is open to all who wish to support the work of the Society and to further their own interest in Ireland’s architectural heritage and decorative arts.
